Discovery Flight - Cessna 172 G1000 NXi

Take the controls of the world's most-flown training aircraft and find out what flying is really like — not from a passenger seat, but from the left seat with your hands on the yoke.
Your Discovery Flight at AZ begins on the ground with a preflight briefing covering aircraft systems, the day's route, and the basics of flight controls. You'll walk through a full preflight inspection alongside your AZ flight instructor before climbing into the Cessna 172 — a four-seat, single-engine aircraft trusted by flight schools, the military, and aviation universities worldwide for more than half a century.

Our 172s are equipped with the Garmin G1000 NXi integrated flight deck — the same glass-cockpit technology found in modern corporate and airline aircraft. Two high-resolution displays put your flight instruments, moving map, weather, traffic, and engine data front and center, giving you a real preview of the avionics you'd train on all the way through your Private Pilot certificate.

Once airborne, your instructor will hand you the controls. You'll fly straight-and-level, turn, climb, and descend over the South Florida coastline — the Atlantic on one side, the Everglades on the other. No experience required, no prior knowledge expected. If you decide to come back, your Discovery Flight counts toward your Private Pilot training and goes in your official pilot logbook.
