Instrument Proficiency Check

$418.00

Regain your instrument currency and sharpen your skills under the hood with a focused, professional Instrument Proficiency Check (IPC) at Aviator Zone.

Your session begins with a structured ground briefing alongside your AZ instructor, where you’ll review IFR procedures, regulations, weather interpretation, and risk management. The ground portion is tailored to your experience level and the areas you want to strengthen — whether you’re returning after a lapse in currency or looking to rebuild confidence in instrument flying.

After the briefing, you’ll head out for a full preflight inspection before stepping into one of our Cessna 172 aircraft, equipped with either classic analog instruments or modern glass cockpit avionics depending on availability. This allows you to train in a configuration that best aligns with your current or future flying goals.

In the air, your instructor will guide you through the tasks outlined in the FAA Instrument ACS, including:

• Attitude instrument flying
• Holding procedures
• Intercepting and tracking courses
• Precision and non-precision approaches
• Missed approaches and transitions
• Partial panel and abnormal/emergency scenarios

Each profile is conducted in a practical, real-world training environment designed to rebuild accuracy, situational awareness, and confidence in the IFR system.
Upon successful completion, your instructor will endorse your logbook, restoring your instrument currency in accordance with FAA requirements (14 CFR §61.57).

What’s Included:

• Ground review of IFR regulations, procedures, and weather
• Personalized IPC plan tailored to your proficiency level
• Full preflight walkaround of the aircraft
• Instrument flight training covering required ACS tasks
• Logbook endorsement upon successful completion

Available at our Miami (Tamiami — KTMB) and Pembroke Pines (North Perry — KHWO) locations.

Training duration varies based on experience and proficiency. Additional time may be required to meet proficiency standards. All sales are final and nonrefundable.
